Akshay Bhatia credits Zyrtec and new nasal spray for beating spring allergies on tour

Akshay Bhatia says daily Zyrtec tablets and a new drug-free nasal spray keep his spring allergies under control during PGA Tour events.

Akshay Bhatia reminisces about his 2014 debut at Augusta National Golf Club, where the lush course triggered intense allergy reactions. Over the years he has relied on Zyrtec tablets taken daily, comparing the routine to applying sunscreen before a round. In March, Zyrtec secured a four-year partnership as the PGA Tour’s first official allergy-relief sponsor and added Bhatia and Neal Shipley as player ambassadors.

The brand introduced Allergen Shield Spray, a drug-free nasal mist that forms a protective gel barrier against pollen, dander and dust. Jenn Lovell, commercial head of U.S. Allergy for Kenvue, said roughly 85 percent of tour players contend with allergies, especially during the overlapping golf and pollen seasons. Bhatia says the spray’s once-daily use simplifies his preparation and he often carries Zyrtec in his bag for fellow players or caddies. Effective allergy management, he notes, contributed to his recent win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Why it matters
