Alabama woman retracts false rape claim against Jay-Z and Diddy

A woman from Alabama, who filed a 2024 lawsuit alleging that Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter and Sean "Diddy" Combs raped her at age 13, has officially recanted her claims. In a Thursday filing, she asserted she never met Carter, was never drugged or assaulted, and that the allegations involving a third unnamed celebrity are untrue. The plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe in court documents, said she was motivated by a Facebook advertisement seeking sexual-assault claims against Combs and that her attorneys filed the complaint without conducting any due-diligence.

Carter had previously denied the allegations as a blackmail attempt and is now suing the woman's former lawyers, headed by Tony Buzbee. Buzbee has not seen the new declaration and maintains his clients received the same story from the woman earlier. The case adds to ongoing legal battles surrounding the high-profile musicians, with Combs currently serving a prison sentence for unrelated charges.
