Aldi announces ten new UK store locations slated for 2027 rollout
Aldi has disclosed the first ten towns where it will open new supermarkets in 2027 as part of its £900 million expansion plan.
Aldi revealed the initial ten locations for its 2027 store expansion, covering areas from North London’s Angel to the Isle of Wight’s Ryde. The list includes Bridgend in South Wales, Clapham and Kew in London, Exmouth and Ivybridge in Devon, Halifax in West Yorkshire, Haywards Heath in West Sussex, and Winnersh in Berkshire. The openings form part of a £900 million investment programme that also foresees 40 new stores opening across the UK next year and continued upgrades to the retailer’s logistics network.
With 1,095 outlets currently operating, Aldi aims to reach 1,500 stores, prioritising sites with limited access to a branch. Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, highlighted the plan’s role in delivering value to new communities and creating thousands of jobs for British workers and suppliers.
Why it matters
The new stores will increase retail access, create jobs, and support local suppliers across the UK.
