Alexander Vindman Labels Trump and Putin as America’s Enemies During Senate Run

Alexander Vindman, a former Lt. Colonel who testified in the 2019 impeachment inquiry and was later removed from the National Security Council, is now running for the U.S. Senate in Florida. During a recent appearance on the "Rick Wilson’s The Enemies List" podcast, he declared that both Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin are enemies of the United States, drawing parallels between Trumpism and Russian influence.

The remarks follow a pattern of harsh criticism from Vindman and his family, including past comparisons of Trump and his supporters to Nazis and accusations that Trump is a Russian asset. Since relocating to Florida in 2023, Vindman has amassed more than $16 million in campaign contributions, largely from out-of-state donors. He leads the Democratic primary field against Angela Nixon and would meet incumbent Republican Senator Ashley Moody in the November election. The campaign unfolds in a state that Trump carried three times and where registered Republicans outnumber Democrats by 1.5 million.
