All Bettergoods Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine Lots Recalled Over Listeria Risk
Gias Foods, Inc. has expanded its recall to include every lot of Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine sold at Walmart due to possible listeria contamination.
Gias Foods, Inc. is widening its earlier recall to cover every lot of Bettergoods brand Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine after routine sampling by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services indicated a potential listeria presence. The frozen pasta, sold in 22-ounce yellow plastic containers bearing UPC 194346442706, was shipped to Walmart locations across the United States.
The FDA classified the recall as Class I, meaning there is a reasonable probability of serious health consequences, though no cases of illness have been linked to the product so far. Walmart has implemented a sales block both in stores and online and is removing the affected items from its inventory. Shoppers who purchased the pasta are urged to return it for a refund and to follow the recall guidance provided by the company. The agency also warned that listeria can cause severe infection in vulnerable groups, including the elderly, pregnant women and immunocompromised individuals.
Why it matters
Consumers need to know the recall to avoid possible listeria infection and to return the product for a refund.
