All five aboard Cessna that vanished after departing Condoto are confirmed dead

A small Cessna T206 registered HK-4985 lifted off from Condoto in the Chocó department bound for Bogotá, but contact was lost only minutes after departure. President Abelardo de la Espriella confirmed that the aircraft crashed and that all five people on board - the pilot and four members of the Patrouille aérienne civile medical brigade - were found dead. The Colombian Air Force, led by General Luis Miguel Díaz, described the crash site as a rugged, forested mountain area that complicated rescue efforts.
The incident underscores the risks associated with aviation in Colombia’s remote and topographically complex zones, where technical issues and weather often contribute to accidents. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
