All nine CubeSats from Nuri's fifth launch achieve ground contact

Nine of the ten CubeSats carried by the Nuri rocket have successfully linked with ground stations, while one failed to deploy.

During Nuri’s fifth flight, nine of the ten secondary payload CubeSats established communication with ground stations, as announced by the Korea AeroSpace Administration and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute. Six of these, notably Space Lintec’s BEE-1012 and Chosun University’s orbital verification satellite for space optical communications, secured two-way links less than two hours after liftoff. The other three, including KAIST’s GBSat, sent telemetry confirming they are operating correctly.

The sole satellite that failed to deploy was PERSAT-02, built by the private company Quaternion. Authorities highlighted that more accurate insertion into target orbits enabled quicker contact than in earlier launches, underscoring advances in South Korea’s space capabilities. Each CubeSat will now undergo basic checks before beginning its full mission.
