All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy cleared to rejoin India ahead of Afghanistan T20 series
India's Nitish Kumar Reddy has passed a BCCI medical fitness test and will travel to New Delhi to prepare for the upcoming T20I series against Afghanistan.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, who last appeared for India in the June ODI series versus Afghanistan, has been given medical clearance by the BCCI after recovering from a left-quadriceps injury sustained while bowling in Dharamsala. Following a period of rest that saw him miss tours of Ireland and England, he passed a fitness test last week and impressed in a final match-simulation at the Board's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
The 23-year-old will join the national squad in New Delhi on Thursday to prepare for the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan beginning September 13. He is also part of India's contingent for the Asian Games, which commence on September 24, and will travel with the team on September 18. The Asian Games schedule includes a solitary T20I against Japan on September 22 in Sano, Japan.
