Alleged fake 49ers player Daejon Love faces new accusations from women

Women are publicly accusing Daejon Love, who pretended to be a San Francisco 49ers player, of scams and sexual misconduct.

The controversy surrounding Daejon Love, who claimed to be a San Francisco 49ers player, has intensified as several women have come forward with detailed accusations. Karma Rose used her Instagram account to describe how Love tailored his approach to each woman, allegedly seeking both monetary gain and non-consensual sexual favors, and she posted a screenshot of a text where he said he was heading to Oregon. In a video clip, Love is heard saying he does not think everyone is on the same page before the recording cuts off.

Another user shared a conversation in which a victim demanded proof of his football career, prompting Love to cite a college injury and offer to show "team-issued" 49ers equipment. While officials have not confirmed the total number of victims, Rose believes the $1.3 million figure cited by earlier reports understates the true scale. The emerging testimonies highlight a pattern of deception that may have affected the mental and emotional wellbeing of the alleged victims.

Why it matters

The case illustrates how false sports credentials can be used to defraud and exploit vulnerable individuals.
