Allianz partners with Orange Sky to bring showers and laundry to disaster-hit Australians
Allianz Australia has teamed up with charity Orange Sky to fund free shower and laundry services for communities recovering from natural disasters.
Allianz Australia announced a three-year alliance with charity Orange Sky under its Community Care program, targeting the human side of disaster recovery. Orange Sky, which began as a converted van in Brisbane in 2014, now runs more than 450 weekly free shower and laundry services across the country, helping people affected by floods, bushfires, cyclones and other events. Allianz commissioned a survey of 1,006 disaster-impacted Australians, finding that 63% consider shower access essential and 51% view free laundry as a priority, while 94% believe businesses should aid recovery.
By funding Orange Sky’s operating costs, Allianz hopes to merge its nationwide disaster insights with the charity’s trusted community presence. Existing partners Rural Aid and Outside the Locker Room will also continue to support the initiative, emphasizing a collaborative approach to rebuilding dignity and resilience after disasters.
