Alonso urges Formula One to overhaul circuits and tweak power units for more excitement

He described several circuits as having been "assassinated" this year. Alonso also suggested adjusting the balance between electric and combustion power for longer-lasting speed. Fernando Alonso criticised a number of Formula One circuits for losing the excitement that traditionally defines the sport, labeling several as "assassinated" this season. He pointed to the newly used MadRing in Madrid, as well as historic venues like Silverstone, Spa and Suzuka, saying they no longer deliver fun races. While praising the sport’s growing popularity, Alonso called for a re-evaluation of engine output, proposing a reduction in immediate electric acceleration in favor of sustained speed.
He said these proposals are part of ongoing discussions with Formula One chief Stefano Domenicali and FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The comments come as the Azerbaijan Grand Prix prepares to start practice sessions, marking the next race on the calendar.
