Alwar video shows sweet boxes allegedly packed with cash before municipal vote

A video that has gone viral online depicts boxes of the local sweet kalakand bearing a photograph of Congress candidate Duleechand Bairwa and allegedly containing Rs 500 notes. The footage, reportedly recorded in Ward 42’s Diwakari neighbourhood of Alwar around 1 am, shows a car with registration RJ14 CP 6770 stopping, its occupants unloading the boxes before fleeing as a crowd gathered. Residents who later inspected the packages claimed to find both the sweets and cash inside.

Vaishali Nagar police have refuted any such distribution taking place, and Bairwa dismissed the video as fabricated to tarnish his reputation ahead of the municipal polls. BSP candidate Sumit Verma alleged the scene was evidence of cash for votes, though the claim remains unverified. Rajasthan forest minister Sanjay Sharma confirmed the video is being examined and noted it might be staged or sourced from elsewhere. The controversy emerges a day before the municipal election in Alwar.
