Amalie Iuel finishes last in Diamond League 400m hurdles as retirement looms

Norwegian hurdler Amalie Iuel placed eighth in the 400 m hurdles at the Diamond League final in Brussels and will retire after the season.

Amalie Iuel ran a 54.90 to finish eighth of eight competitors in the 400 m hurdles at the Diamond League finale in Brussels, far from her 54.05 personal best. Commentators noted the result was a modest finish for the 32-year-old. Earlier this year she announced she will end her career after the season to focus on family life with partner Aksel Lund Svindal and their son Storm. She still has one more race to run at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest next week.
