Amazon Now expands ultra-fast delivery to over 120 Indian cities
Amazon Now has rolled out its minute-delivery service to more than 120 cities across India, doubling its reach in two weeks.
Amazon Now, the e-commerce giant’s ultra-fast delivery platform, has been extended to more than 120 Indian cities, a footprint that has doubled in just two weeks. Customers in locations including Amritsar, Abohar, Jalandhar, Ambala, Mangalore, Manipal, Vizag, Kochi, Changanassery, Bhubaneswar and Karwar can now receive orders for groceries, fashion, beauty and small-appliance items within minutes, thanks to a network of almost 800 micro-fulfilment and urban fulfilment centres.
Harsh Goyal, vice president of everyday essentials for Amazon India, said the rollout is timed for the upcoming Amazon Great Indian Festival and reflects the unit’s status as the fastest-growing business segment in the country, with orders doubling each quarter. The company previously reported $1 billion in annualised gross sales for Amazon Now and plans to reach 300 cities. During the festival starting October 8, shoppers will find special discounts and extra savings for Prime members.
Why it matters
The expansion boosts ultra-fast e-commerce access for millions, intensifying competition in India’s quick-commerce market.
