The inaugural season earned a 90% critical approval score on Rotten Tomatoes, signaling strong reception. Series creator Megan Park, who also serves as co-showrunner, director, and executive producer, said the positive audience reaction validates the team's effort to portray authenticity.
Co-executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, representing Fake Empire, joined Tom Ackerley and Dani Gorin of LuckyChap in praising the cast and crew. Amazon MGM Studios' global television head Peter Friedlander noted the show's worldwide appeal and the ensemble's performances. Production will resume in Muskoka, Canada, where the story’s island setting unfolds.
