Amazon raises prices on Kindle, Echo, Eero and Fire TV devices ahead of holiday sales
Amazon has increased the list prices of many of its hardware products, including Kindles, Echo speakers, Eero routers and Fire TV sticks, by $10 to $100.
Recent price changes at Amazon show a broad hike across its hardware lineup, adding $20 to $100 to the sticker price of devices such as Kindles, Echo smart speakers, Eero mesh routers and Fire TV sticks. Most new Kindle models now cost $150 to $320, while the Echo Show series ranges from $100 to $500 after the increase. The Kindle Scribe series and the Echo Studio remain unchanged.
Amazon attributed the adjustments to rising expenses for memory and storage parts. Competitors Apple and Kobo have also raised prices this summer, prompting concerns that upcoming holiday promotions may simply reflect the new baseline costs rather than genuine discounts.
