American Action Network rolls out $22 million ad push ahead of midterms
The American Action Network announced a $22 million advertising campaign targeting 41 House districts to promote GOP tax cuts and criticize Democratic policies before the November midterms.
The American Action Network, an organization that describes itself as an "action tank," launched a $22 million advertising blitz on Thursday aimed at 41 congressional districts. Running from Aug. 13 to Sept. 3, the ads will appear on digital platforms and television, emphasizing Republican achievements like the removal of taxes on tips and Social Security, as well as other elements of a tax package passed last summer. The campaign also attacks what it calls "extreme policies" of Democrats, specifically referencing gender-affirming care for minors.
Its purpose is to bolster the GOP's chances of holding onto its narrow House majority in the upcoming November midterm elections. This purchase follows a previous $40 million spend by the network, which is linked to the House leadership super PAC Congressional Leadership Fund, making the combined $62 million the largest the group has ever committed at this point in a cycle.
Why it matters
The spending could influence voter perception in key districts and affect control of the U.S. House.
