Andrew Garfield's new film 'The Uprising' launches in theaters, streaming dates unclear
The historical action film 'The Uprising' starring Andrew Garfield opens nationwide in U.S. theaters this weekend, with no streaming options yet.
Paul Greengrass' latest historical action picture, 'The Uprising', features Andrew Garfield as a grieving ploughman who becomes part of the 1381 Peasants' Revolt against King Richard II. The ensemble cast includes Jamie Bell, Stephen Dillane, Tom Hollander, Cosmo Jarvis, Thomasin McKenzie, Jonny Lee Miller, Woody Norman and Katherine Waterston. The film opens wide across U.S. theaters on Friday, September 11, with tickets available through Fandango.
As a Focus Features title, it is expected to debut on Universal's streaming service Peacock before entering Amazon Prime Video's library, following a typical four-month window arrangement, though precise streaming windows are not confirmed. Digital purchase or rental may become available earlier, but the first home-viewing option will be Peacock, likely in mid-November 2026. No official Netflix release is planned.
