Andrew Hastie vows to keep pressing One Nation after cartoon clash

Liberal frontbencher Andrew Hastie launched a harsh rebuke of Pauline Hanson after a cartoon posted on her X account accused him of betrayal while he testified in the defamation suit brought by former soldier Ben Roberts‑Smith. Hastie called Hanson a “lying coward” and warned Barnaby Joyce that he would have to keep dealing with the party’s fallout. The cartoon sparked condemnation from across the political spectrum, including the Returned Services League, and One Nation’s Western Australian leader distanced himself from the allegation.

Hastie said he would persist in the fight and dismissed claims that his actions are driven by personal ambition. He also noted that threats have forced him to boost his personal security.
