Other donors included Gary Lubner (£25,000), Sacha Lord (£35,000), the production company Charlie Parsons Creative (£50,000) and the think tank ThinkLabour (£22,186). The record also lists hospitality and gifts he received as Greater Manchester mayor, such as Glastonbury tickets, Brit Awards accommodation, Aintree racecourse tickets, cricket tickets and a tea set from Qatar's ambassador.
Labour party spokespeople defended the funding, stating it follows all parliamentary and Electoral Commission regulations. Under current rules, newly elected MPs must declare current financial interests and any registrable benefits received in the twelve months before election within a month of taking office.
