Angel One founder Dinesh Thakkar buys entire Juhu tower for ₹711 crore

Angel One founder Dinesh Thakkar has acquired the full 63,000-sq-ft Juhu tower for roughly ₹711 crore, a record-setting price per square foot.

Dinesh Thakkar, the founder, chairman and managing director of Angel One, bought the entire Embassy Terazza tower on Juhu Tara Road for an estimated ₹711 crore, translating to roughly ₹1.13 lakh per square foot - a new benchmark for the area. The 63,000-sq-ft G+7 structure is part of a five-tower development that will eventually host around 50 residences and has a projected gross development value exceeding ₹3,000 crore.

Embassy Developments called the deal the country’s largest single residential unit transaction. Thakkar, who once rented homes until his late thirties to keep capital in his business, now calls the tower “Angelus,” citing privacy, space and sea views. His long-term business philosophy, shaped by early setbacks like the dot-com crash, emphasizes persistence and disciplined growth. Outside work, he is known for a strong fitness regimen and a collection of high-performance cars, reflecting his broader approach to rewards and discipline.

Why it matters

The deal highlights soaring demand for ultra-luxury, large-format homes in Mumbai and marks a historic price record for residential property.
