Angel Reese shatters WNBA double-double record in Dream's win over Lynx
Angel Reese logged her 29th double-double of the season, setting a new WNBA record during Atlanta's victory over Minnesota.
In an 89-81 triumph over the Minnesota Lynx, Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese recorded her 29th double-double of the year, posting 15 points and 11 rebounds and surpassing Alyssa Thomas's 2023 single-season record. The three-time All-Star has also set the WNBA single-game rebound benchmark, snatching 26 boards in a 78-71 win over the Los Angeles Sparks, and now holds the season rebound lead with 485, overtaking A’ja Wilson's 451 from 2024.
Teammate Allisha Gray lauded Reese's rebounding prowess after the Sparks game. Reese, averaging 16.1 points and 12.4 rebounds, will join Rhyne Howard on the U.S. roster for the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin, while A’ja Wilson and Kelsey Plum were withdrawn for health reasons and replaced by Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen. The WNBA is scheduled to resume play on September 17.
