Angelina Jolie and son surprise Kharkiv boxing gym amid ongoing conflict

Angelina Jolie made an unannounced appearance at the Spadkoyemets boxing club in Kharkiv, a city heavily targeted since Russia's invasion began in 2022. Accompanied by her son Knox, she participated in a Muay Thai training session alongside Ukrainian defenders, as posted by the Boxing Federation of Ukraine. The club’s owner, Pavlo Chyshko, expressed surprise at the chance meeting, noting that Jolie complimented the gym and asked his son about his sports background.

He described the encounter as a genuine and pleasant surprise. The visit marks Jolie’s third known trip to the conflict-affected nation since the war started. Kharkiv remains under frequent artillery, drone and missile attacks, underscoring the symbolic nature of the star’s presence.
