ANPIS expands placement allowance and youth benefits up to age 26

The National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection (ANPIS) issued a public statement outlining revisions to the procedures for determining and paying placement allowances, support indemnities, and youth indemnities. The changes aim to facilitate the socio-professional integration of young people up to 26 who continue their studies or hold a job, granting them a legal basis to request retroactive payments and a predictable route to personal autonomy.

Orphaned youths may now obtain a placement allowance after turning 18 if they remain in education, either once per educational stage or, upon request, for a transition period of up to two years, which can be prolonged until the end of their studies without surpassing age 26. Additionally, any young person under 26 who is employed or studying can receive a youth indemnity, irrespective of when they exited the special protection system.

Exit counseling has become compulsory, with DGASPC providing written reports to the youth. Applications and supporting documents can be submitted at county agency offices or electronically.
