Antalya to Host 77th International Astronautical Congress in October
Antalya will welcome about 35,000 delegates from 82 nations for the 77th International Astronautical Congress from Oct. 5-9, under the theme “The World Needs More Space.”
From Oct. 5 to 9, Antalya will host the 77th International Astronautical Congress, drawing an estimated 35,000 participants representing 604 organizations across 82 countries. Organized by the International Astronautical Federation and hosted by the Turkish Space Agency, with co-hosting by the SAHA Istanbul Aerospace Cluster, the gathering will be held at the Nest Congress and Exhibition Centre in the resort town of Belek.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is slated to open the event, which carries the theme “The World Needs More Space” to advance fair and sustainable space activities. Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin said that beyond the scientific program, social tours for astronauts and guests have been arranged, and more than 1,000 security staff will ensure a safe environment. The congress seeks to foster global collaboration on space technology, emphasizing security, international exploration initiatives, and the long-term ethical duties of humanity in space, thereby strengthening Turkey’s role in the international space community.
