Anthropic expands usage rules and launches free year of Claude Team for startups

Anthropic unveiled a revision to its Claude model usage policy that adds a broad prohibition on deceptive political or commercial propaganda, voter manipulation, election disruption, development of weapon software, autonomous drones and non‑consensual surveillance tools. The company also announced an extension of its Claude for Startups initiative, giving qualifying young firms a twelve‑month subscription to Claude Team with up to five premium seats and $1,000 in API credits.

Eligibility is limited to companies founded in the last five years or that have secured funding within the previous two years. The program includes access to a Claude Marketplace for plugins and virtual office‑hour sessions with the Applied AI team.
