Anthropic reports Q2 revenue exceeding $11.5 billion, a fourteenfold jump

Anthropic PBC disclosed that its second-quarter revenue topped $11.5 billion, roughly 14 times the amount recorded a year earlier.

According to confidential filings, Anthropic PBC generated over $11.5 billion in revenue during its most recent quarter, representing a fourteenfold increase compared with the same quarter a year ago. The figure also surpasses the $4.73 billion recorded in the preceding quarter, and the company reported a positive adjusted operating income for the period. This growth comes as Anthropic intensifies competition with OpenAI for enterprise customers, having shifted from an underdog to a major AI software provider.

The firm has confidentially registered for a public offering and is working with Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and JPMorgan Chase & Co. to launch an IPO, aiming to secure market funding ahead of rivals such as DeepSeek. Its annualized revenue run rate now tops $47 billion, edging past OpenAI's reported run rate of over $40 billion.

Why it matters

The surge signals Anthropic's rising influence in the AI market and could reshape competition ahead of a major IPO.
