Anthropic unveils Claude Duet AI agent for professionals in research preview

Anthropic introduced Claude Duet, an AI assistant aimed at professionals and small businesses, now available as a research preview on mobile and web.

Anthropic announced Claude Duet, an AI agent designed for professional users and small enterprises, launching as a research preview across iOS, Android, and the Claude web interface. Powered by the Claude Opus 5.5 model, the assistant delivers concise morning briefs, continuously monitors connected applications, and notifies users only when attention is needed. It can handle tasks from simple meeting scheduling to complex projects like creating dashboards, financial forecasts, and even prototyping web applications, using an integrated browser virtual machine.

Before executing high-risk actions—such as sending payments or deleting files—Claude Duet seeks user confirmation, and a dedicated safety classifier blocks attempts to share the most sensitive information, like credit-card numbers. Anthropic notes the early version may misinterpret threads or urgency levels and is less capable of personal errands. Access requires a Pro or Max subscription in the US, with interested users placed on a waitlist.

Why it matters

Claude Duet expands AI assistance for business workflows, highlighting growing competition in enterprise AI tools.
