Anti-migrant activist Danny Tommo denied bail, faces Christmas behind bars
Danny Tommo was refused bail and remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to criminal damage to a boat in the English Channel.
Daniel Thomas, known as Danny Tommo, was taken into custody after a judge refused his bail application at Portsmouth Crown Court. While appearing by video from prison, he held a Holy Bible and was charged with criminal damage for allegedly slashing a boat in the English Channel on September 22. He has also denied an allegation of failing to disclose his phone PIN under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000.
Barrister Simon Pentol proposed strict bail conditions, but Judge James Newton-Price KC dismissed them, stating that political considerations would not influence the ruling. The case has been adjourned to a November 12 hearing, with a provisional trial date of March 1, 2027, meaning Tommo will spend Christmas in jail.
