Anup Kumar Saha named MD and CEO of Kotak Mahindra Bank starting 2027

The Reserve Bank of India approved Anup Kumar Saha as managing director and chief executive of Kotak Mahindra Bank for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2027.

The Reserve Bank of India gave its nod to Anup Kumar Saha's elevation to managing director and chief executive officer of Kotak Mahindra Bank, with the three-year tenure set to commence on January 1, 2027. Kotak's board will now take the necessary steps to formalise the appointment and seek approval from its members. Saha, who entered the bank in January 2026 and has served as executive director since March 2026, is responsible for the retail bank, government business, data analytics and marketing divisions.

His career spans more than 32 years, including 25 years in banking and non-banking financial services. Prior to joining Kotak, he held several senior roles at Bajaj Finance, culminating in his brief tenure as managing director and CEO from April to July 2025. Board chairman C S Rajan highlighted Saha's extensive experience, while current MD and CEO Ashok Vaswani noted his familiarity with the bank's operations.
