Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim posted on Facebook that “Guru” had safely reached New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit, adding the exclamation “Slayyy” and invoking “Madani Diplomacy.” The phrasing mirrors terms Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi employed in recent remarks, where he labeled an unnamed leader “Guru” and urged young Malaysians to “slay” and “flex” while outlining the Blue Malaysia Agenda at the 2026 UMNO General Assembly.
Zahid’s use of “Guru” previously appeared in a leaked 2021 telephone conversation in which he referred to Anwar by that nickname. Anwar’s current post both acknowledges his diplomatic mission and subtly responds to Zahid’s earlier language, seeking prayers for the summit’s success. The summit is being hosted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
