Apple plans touchscreen MacBook Pro and refreshed iPad Mini for late October launch
Apple is expected to unveil a touchscreen MacBook Pro and an updated iPad Mini around October 27, according to reports.
Apple is slated to hold a hybrid event in late October, combining a streamed video show with a small press gathering. During the session, the firm is anticipated to announce a new line of MacBook Pro laptops that are slimmer, equipped with OLED touchscreen displays, and incorporate the iPhone-style Dynamic Island UI. A subset of the MacBook Pros will retain the existing design but will be powered by the forthcoming M6 chip, which is also expected to debut in a new Mac Mini.
In addition, the iPad Mini will receive its first refresh since 2024, moving the front-facing camera to the landscape edge and adding a revamped speaker array. The announcements are projected to occur on or about October 27, roughly two weeks after an earlier Apple event focused on smart-home products.
Why it matters
The launch could reshape laptop design trends and boost Apple's hardware sales in a competitive market.
