The company said the series will now arrive in spring 2027, timing the launch after the upcoming November midterm elections. Apple’s postponement followed the 2025 assassination of far-right activist Charlie Kirk, prompting an opaque statement about “careful consideration.”

Chastain, both star and executive producer, issued an Instagram rebuttal, citing a surge of high-profile violent incidents in the United States and stressing the show’s relevance. The drama centers on Jodi Goodwin, a veteran who infiltrates white-supremacist online forums to thwart domestic terror. Creator Melissa James Gibson adapted the story from a 2019 Cosmopolitan article. Critics have argued Apple’s decision reflects political pressure, while FBI Director Kash Patel later announced the dissolution of the agency depicted in the series.
