Apple Watch gains AI-powered meeting notes and sound alerts

Apple rolled out a suite of audio-intelligence capabilities for the Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, headlined by Siri Recap, which records ambient conversation and automatically drafts a concise summary via Apple Intelligence. The generated notes, including a title and key points, are stored in the Siri app and can be reviewed, with options to run the feature continuously, on a schedule, or not at all. The update also brings Shazam integration for instant song identification, matching Google’s Now Playing service, and a sound-detection system that notifies users of sirens, alarms, doorbells or a crying baby.

A Live Rewind shortcut lets users double-press the digital crown to replay the previous 15 seconds of dialogue. Apple stresses that raw audio is never saved, recordings are end-to-end encrypted, and speaker identification is not performed, though privacy concerns remain.
