Apple Watch Series 12 introduces premium ceramic cases in two new colors

Apple Watch Series 12 will be offered with a ceramic case option in pearl white or night blue, priced from $899 for the 40mm model and $949 for the 46mm version.

Apple’s latest smartwatch, the Series 12, reintroduces a ceramic case option, marking the first wearable with this material since the Series 5 in 2019. The new ceramic is offered in pearl white and night-blue finishes, and the 40mm version starts at $899, while the 46mm model costs $949. Apple describes the ceramic as more scratch-resistant than its titanium alternatives, appealing to buyers willing to pay a premium above the base $399 price.

Although the company has dropped the “Apple Watch Edition” label after the Series 4, the ceramic tier serves a similar high-end market. This move follows Apple’s earlier premium case history, which began with 18-karat gold, then shifted to ceramic for Series 2, 3 and 5, and later to stainless steel or titanium alongside aluminum. The reintroduction signals Apple’s continued focus on offering luxury materials for its flagship wearables.

Why it matters

It provides a more durable, high-priced option and shows Apple’s renewed focus on luxury smartwatch materials.
