Arbetsmiljöverket launches investigation into Fagersta school attack

Arbetsmiljöverket has received eight reports, including from police and Fagersta municipality, and is probing the school attack that left a 17-year-old girl dead and three boys injured.

Eight complaints have been filed with Arbetsmiljöverket, among them submissions from the police authority and the local municipality of Fagersta. The agency is drawing on experience from its earlier inquiry into the Campus Risbergska incident in Örebro. Inspector Lena Sundstedt said the lessons learned there will inform one outlet's investigation. Because only three weeks have passed since the attack, the authority is postponing an on-site inspection.

Why it matters

The probe determines workplace safety standards for schools after a deadly attack.
