Arenado's third grand slam lifts Diamondbacks over Yankees 8-4

Arizona loaded the bases in the fifth against Yankees starter Will Warren, prompting reliever Brent Headrick to enter the game. After striking out Geraldo Perdomo and walking Corbin Carroll, Headrick surrendered a grand slam to Nolan Arenado on a 2-1 pitch, his third of the season and ninth overall. The hit pushed the Diamondbacks ahead to an eventual 8-4 victory.

Arizona recorded its 47th comeback win, staying within striking distance of the National League wild-card race while trailing the Phillies by four games. New York's offense was limited to three hits over the final 6 1/3 innings, with Justin Martinez among the relievers who kept the Yankees at bay. The Yankees will open a four-game series against the Rays after the loss.
