Armed assault in Tamenglong kills woman, wounds husband and son

An early-morning attack by unidentified gunmen in Tollen village, Tamenglong district killed Lhingzangai and injured her husband Seineh Singshit and their son.

In the early hours of Sunday, armed men shot into a home in Tollen village, Tamenglong district, killing a woman identified as Lhingzangai and injuring her husband Seineh Singshit and their son with bullet wounds. Law enforcement has not yet determined who carried out the assault, and no militant organization has stepped forward to claim it. Additional security personnel have been sent to the locality.

The Kaimai Village Authority denounced the incident as a deliberate effort to create discord between the region’s long-standing Kuki and Naga communities, urging a thorough, impartial investigation. The Kuki Youth Organisation Women’s Council also condemned the attack, calling for stronger intelligence, protection for vulnerable civilians, and accountability for the perpetrators.
