Armed burglars loot priceless Nawab of Bahawalpur heirlooms and millions in cash across Islamabad

Burglars broke into multiple homes in Islamabad, stealing antiques worth about Rs20 million from the Nawab of Bahawalpur’s family and cash and gold totaling over Rs34 million.

In a string of robberies across Islamabad, thieves stole valuables exceeding Rs34 million. The first incident involved a break-in at the house of Prince Bahawal Abbas Khan Abbasi, son of Nawab Salahuddin Abbasi, where silver and gold heirlooms—including a throne chair, bowls, statues and historic weapons—worth about Rs20 million vanished. Police later recorded further assaults on residences in Naval Anchorage, Margalla Town, Abbasiabad, D-12, Alipur, Sri Saral and DHA Phase II, where armed gangs seized gold, cash, watches, iPhones and even a motorcycle, sometimes holding victims at gunpoint.

One case involved eight tolas of gold and several silver rings taken from Ali Akbar Naqvi’s home after his parents were threatened. Authorities have opened investigations under sections 454 and 380 of the Pakistan Penal Code and are awaiting a supplemental inventory of missing items.
