Armed police lock down Bristol school after man spotted with bladed weapon

At 2.23 pm, Avon and Somerset Police were alerted to a person seen with a bladed weapon behind a disused building on Queen Ann Road in Bristol's Barton Hill district. In response, armed officers were dispatched and the nearby Barton Hill Academy was placed under lockdown, with pupils instructed to stay on school grounds for their safety. After a brief period, the school released its students while officers continued a thorough search of the surrounding area, employing a police drone for aerial surveillance.
No weapon was found during the operation, and the road was reopened to traffic. Police remain on site to complete their investigation.
