Army chief urges constant vigilance and intelligence-driven ops in Jammu & Kashmir

General Dhiraj Seth toured forward areas in Kupwara and Budgam, reviewing the operational readiness of forces deployed under the Rashtriya Rifles sector of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps. He received a detailed briefing on the prevailing security environment and the steps taken to detect, deter and decisively counter terrorist activity. Commending all ranks for their professionalism, he stressed the need for continuous vigilance, sharper intelligence-led operations, and rapid, precise responses to new threats.

The chief also highlighted the importance of seamless coordination with all stakeholders to improve situational awareness. During the visit, soldiers were presented with gallantry awards for their role in recent counter-terror operations, including the neutralisation of a top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander named Yasir in the Yusmarg forest area.
