Army completes 89 shelters and inspects rehab progress in quake-stricken Mindanao towns

Months after the powerful earthquake that shattered communities in southern Mindanao, military units are focused on rebuilding rather than combat. They have erected 89 provisional shelters for those forced from their homes. On September 24, Maj. Gen. Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry Division, flew over the affected towns of Glan, Sarangani, and Jose Abad Santos in Davao Occidental aboard an Air Force Black Hawk to evaluate ongoing work.
