Around 20 participants receive medical care after Dahi Handi incidents in Mumbai
Twenty people were admitted to hospitals during Mumbai's Dahi Handi celebrations and have since been discharged, officials said.
The traditional Dahi Handi celebrations in Mumbai, part of the Janmashtami festival, saw participants building multi-tiered human pyramids to break suspended clay pots. Injuries occurred, leading to twenty people being admitted to hospitals in the island city. All twenty patients have been discharged following medical care, according to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation officials.
The civic body had arranged extensive treatment capacity, designating sixteen suburban hospitals along with Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital in Sion, KEM Hospital in Parel, and Nair Hospital in Mumbai Central, each equipped with more than 100 beds for the event. The BMC emphasized its readiness to handle any further incidents during the celebrations.
