Arson at Rotterdam-Delfshaven rail bridge halts service to Delft
A fire set on a rail bridge near Rotterdam-Delfshaven has stopped all train traffic between Rotterdam and Delft for the day.
Around 02:30 a fire broke out on a technical room door of the bridge over the Delfshavense Schie, after a contractor discovered smoldering cables. ProRail confirmed the blaze was deliberately started and may be sabotage. Firefighters have been battling the flames since the incident, and investigators are examining the cause. Damage to the tracks is still being assessed, and no trains will run between Rotterdam and Delft today.
