Artist Raihan Vadra Says Bikaner House Asked Him to Remove Protest Photos
Raihan Rajiv Vadra claims the management of Bikaner House in New Delhi demanded he take down several protest photographs from his upcoming solo show.
Raihan Rajiv Vadra, a photographer and son of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, alleged that Bikaner House in New Delhi instructed him to delete a large portion of the artworks for his solo exhibition titled No Idea Is Final. The venue reportedly found the protest photographs, which include scenes of police detaining demonstrators and a picture of Rahul Gandhi, objectionable. Vadra specifically rejected the request to remove two images that display the Indian flag.
He stated the exhibition will open with only part of the collection while he looks for an alternative space to display the full set. The dispute highlights tensions over artistic representation of ongoing political protests in the capital.
