Aselsan showcases electronic warfare and radar capabilities on TB2 drones in Turkey
Turkish defence firm Aselsan demonstrated its Antidot electronic warfare pods and Fulmar synthetic-aperture radar on Bayraktar TB2 drones during a test in Konya attended by delegations from 18 nations.
At a test site near Konya, Aselsan integrated its Antidot electronic support and warfare pods onto a Bayraktar TB2 drone, while a second TB2 carried the Fulmar 200 synthetic-aperture radar. The Antidot 2ES 100 pod identified a target radar signal and relayed its position to ground control, after which the Antidot 2EA 200 pod autonomously jammed the radar, enabling the drone to approach without being spotted. A separate TB2 then used the Fulmar 200 to generate detailed radar imagery of the same site, using the coordinates supplied by Antidot.
Aselsan highlighted that this was the first live-radar test of the Antidot suite on a TB2 platform. The Fulmar radar is capable of day-and-night imaging in all weather and can be mounted on the wing or fuselage alongside optical and infrared sensors. Delegations from 18 countries observed the combined detection, jamming and imaging sequence.
