Asiana Fund and Taiwan's JC Capital announced a Rs 1,000-crore fund to invest in Indian growth-stage firms in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, materials and defence.

In a joint statement, Asiana Fund - the investment platform of the Dani family office - and Taiwan-based venture capital firm JC Capital launched the Asiana-JCC Advanced Manufacturing & Innovation Fund with a target size of Rs 1,000 crore. The fund comprises a Rs 600 crore corpus and a Rs 400 crore greenshoe option, and will target 12-15 growth-stage Indian companies, primarily at Series A and B rounds, in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, robotics, semiconductors, computing, materials, sustainability, aerospace and defence.

The initiative seeks to move Indian firms beyond mere production to designing proprietary technology and competing globally. Investors will receive not only capital but also support for technology transfer, strategic guidance, governance, scaling manufacturing and international expansion. JC Capital will leverage its network of corporate limited partners and partners in the United States, Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia to connect portfolio companies with global supply chains and strategic partners.
