Assam Student Found Dead in Noida Guesthouse, Suspect Arrested After Argument

Mahak Ahmed, a 19-year-old from Dibrugarh, Assam, arrived in Noida three weeks before her death and stayed on the first floor of a three-storey paying-guest house with her 18-year-old friend Sanjana. On the night of August 8, the two women reportedly clashed with Raman, a BTech graduate from Bihar who was seated outside his room and consuming alcohol. The following day Sanjana left for work; upon returning she could not locate Mahak, whose phone was off.

Later, residents detected a strong odor emanating from Raman's locked room, prompting a Dial-112 call that led police to the premises on August 10, where they found Mahak's blood-soaked body. The autopsy revealed several injuries consistent with a sharp-edged weapon. A murder FIR was filed after landlord Sarthak Bansal reported the incident, and Raman has been detained while investigators gather forensic evidence and examine Mahak's digital communications.
