Assam trio arrested for Bengaluru blast tied to family land and money feud

Police arrested three men from Assam after a bomb placed at a construction site in Bengaluru injured a worker and was linked to a plot to kill a cousin over land and financial disputes.

Three men from Dhinanathpur village in Assam were taken into custody after a bomb exploded at an under-construction building in Bengaluru’s Pulakeshinagar area, seriously injuring a worker. Police identified two of the accused as Bhurhan Ahmad Burbhuiyya, 20, and Jahidull Hussain Burbhuiyya, 27; the third remains unnamed. Authorities allege the prime suspect plotted with two childhood friends to kill his cousin Allauddin over disputes involving land, money and the cancellation of his sister’s marriage.

The plan involved assembling an improvised explosive device inside a torch battery, which was placed in a parcel at a nearby shop on Jeremiah Road. When Allauddin’s coworker Suraj opened the package, the device detonated on October 20. A 72-hour raid by ten special teams led to the arrests, and the suspects have been presented before a court for detailed interrogation.
