Asus obtains $2 billion syndicated loan to fund AI expansion
Asus secured a $2 billion loan arranged by HSBC through its Singapore subsidiary, marking its first offshore syndicated borrowing to back AI development and global growth.
Asus Global, via its wholly owned Singapore arm, closed a $2 billion syndicated loan arranged by HSBC, its inaugural offshore syndicated financing. HSBC served as sole coordinator, mandated lead arranger, book runner and facility agent, with teams in Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong handling the deal. CFO Nick Wu explained that the capital will provide liquidity and flexibility for the group's AI push, covering cloud, edge and physical AI initiatives, as well as broader global expansion.
The loan was upsized to $2 billion due to strong demand from international lenders. This financing comes amid a wave of massive tech spending on AI infrastructure by major players such as Amazon and Microsoft.
